Max
Partner to Vince, Max has all the tact between the two men. At odds with Vince often, Max prefers subtle persuasion to in-your-face threats. Often finding himself having to hold his partner back, Max is the natural leader of the two.

Vince
Vince is a rough and tumble bully for life. Quick to resort to violence, he seeks any reason to start a fight just to keep things fun. His love of violence is partnered with a love of women, and both keep him in trouble. One to balk at orders, Vince is a handful for his friend Max.

Nora
A mysterious young woman found in an out of the way temple, Nora guards a piece of an ancient artifact with her very life. Insisting the artifact is dangerous, she has trained to ensure she can properly defend it. Fearing the worst for the rest of the artifacts, she hopes to seek out the rest to ensure the pieces are never reassembled and used.

Mr. Fatt
Crime boss and former boss of Max and Vince. Mr. Fatt rules over his city with open and brutal force. Long feared for his direct tactics, he has constantly eluded all attempts on his seat. An oversized man with a passion for power, his current position is like a tasty sandwich that never ends.

Mr. Midgett
Crime lord and rival to Mr. Fatt, Mr. Midgett prefers power the subtle rule of finances brings him. Shrouded in mystery, few are even aware of his actual power, and that's how he prefers things. He has recently caught word of a set of mysterious artifacts and the power they might hold.

Jerome
Much like Vince, Jerome has difficulty controlling his anger. Unlike Vince, however, he doesn't always win his fights, thus he has learned some form of subtlety. Still an associate of Mr. Fatt, Jerome is always on the watch for anything that could threaten the power of his boss's empire.

Stone
Partner to Jerome, Stone is the closest thing to brains the group has to offer. Spaced and often under the influence, Stone isn't always reliable for plans, or fighting, or, at times, anything useful at all. However, his loyalty to Mr. Fatt is never questioned, often due to the assumption he's too lazy to do anything himself.

Issue summaries

A Change of Heart:
Issue One | Max and Vince are sent out on an errand by Mr. Fatt to collect an artifact hidden away in a temple. After reaching the temple, the pair are confronted by Nora, guardian of the artifact. After a brief encounter, Nora explains that the artifact is a single piece of a larger artifact, Anwuth's Heart, that has the power to control an ancient golem. With the golem's power, anyone would possess a virtually unstoppable being.
Max and Vince, seeing an opportunity to escape from under the thumb of Mr. Fatt, agree to help Nora and prevent the artifacts from falling in the wrong hands and join Nora's new quest to gather all the other artifacts before anyone else. As they leave the city, the trio encounter Jerome and Stone, lackeys of Mr. Fatt, who proceed to get roughed up by some "truckers". While Jerome and Stone report back to their boss of Max and Vince's defection, Max, Vince, and Nora leave Mr. Fatt's city with a long road ahead of them...

Insomnia:
Issue 2-current | Arriving in the city controlled by the crimelord Mr. Midgett, Max sends Vince to get some new clothes for Nora, so she won't stand out in a crowd and so that Max can get some much needed sleep. Vince gets in a fight with a clerk that escalates into a gunfight. The clerk is connected with Mr. Midgett and soon Vince and Nora are surrounded and captured by Mr. Midgett's men.
Max foregoes sleep when he finds a familiar name on the hotel's wall, and confronts the woman from his past. She tells him about Julia, Max's lost love, and informs him that she left him for good and had a child, his son.
Vince and Nora are brought before Mr. Midgett who wants them to help him gather the pieces of Anwuth's Heart. Vince and Nora refuse and in the violence that follows, Midgett is left alone. Nora runs off after Vince insults her life's mission, and then proceeds to put a bullet into the forehead of Mr. Midgett.
Max asks when to find Julia and his son, and before she can tell him, they are interrupted by police bursting through the door. They fire a single shot at the unarmed pair...
Looking for Nora, Vince starts his search at the top of the building, where he is confronted by a very much alive Mr. Midgett and a troop of heavily armed guards...
Nora ventures down into the basement of the building, where she discovers a mysterious man. He informs Nora that she is the last child of Anwuth...
